Kokoro Tokyo Mazesoba began in Japan with one obsession: to make exceptional Mazesoba and introduce more people to this uniquely satisfying way of eating noodles.

Founder Takuma Ishikawa opened the first Kokoro in Tokyo in 2014, inspired by Mazesoba's origins in Nagoya and determined to bring the then little-known dish to a wider audience.

What started with one restaurant has since grown to more than 100 locations, with Kokoro becoming one of Japan's best-known names for Mazesoba.

Today, you can experience Kokoro right here in The Rocks, Sydney.

The Home of Japan's No.1 Mazesoba

So, What is Mazesoba?

Mazesoba literally means “mixed noodles.”

Unlike ramen, there's no bowl of broth. Instead, thick, springy noodles are layered with rich sauce, seasoned minced meat, onsen egg, fish powder and toppings.

Then comes the important part. Mix it. Really mix it.

How to eat Mazesoba

Every turn of the noodles brings the ingredients together, coating each strand in layers of savoury, umami-rich flavour.

It's bold. It's satisfying. And once you've had a proper bowl of Mazesoba, you'll understand why people come back for it.

MORE THAN MAZESOBA

Mazesoba may be what made Kokoro famous, but it isn't the only reason to visit.

Our Sydney menu brings together Mazesoba, ramen and Japanese favourites, from comforting bowls of Tonkotsu and Tan Tan Ramen to gyoza, karaage and izakaya-style dishes made for sharing.
